MEET THE CREW

Gavin

Gavin is the Founder and Brew Master for 3 Nations.  After college, Gavin attended and graduated from the World Beer Academy in Germany where he first came up with the name for his future brewery.  Upon his return to the states, Gavin committed himself to his trade by working for some of the most renowned breweries in the U.S. and region including Goose Island in Chicago, Karbach in Houston and Rahr & Sons in Fort Worth before deciding to open his own brewery.  Once funding was secured, Gavin started brewing in a non-airconditioned warehouse in Farmers Branch where he created his first beers – GPA, American Wit and Bulls Brown Ale.  With an offer to move the brewery to Carrollton, Gavin has been able to fulfill his life-long dream of having a brewery where people from all walks of life can enjoy good beer.  He has enjoyed the growth the brewery has experienced and finds it an honor to work with people who have the same passion that he has for the brand.

Gavin loves playing basketball, watching sports, cooking, walking his dog and working

Cozy Bavarian (Oktoberfest) and Mango Smash

JOHN

A life-long Dallas area resident, John graduated from Baylor University before getting an MBA from the University of North Texas.  After spending a decade in sales, John pursued a new passion – creating and leading high performing teams with a focus on the behaviors of growth organizations.  He spent 11 years working for Nokia Telecommunications prior to becoming an entrepreneur.  Like many, John got sucked into the dream vortex of Gavin Secchi and has worked hard with Gavin to create a brewery that we hope is second to none.  John is married and has two adult sons.

John loves adventure.  He walked on Hadrian’s wall, visited Stonehenge and has seen most major castles in England.  He was blessed by the Pope at the Vatican (along with 5,000 other people), rode an elephant in Thailand and worked in a rice field.  In 1975, he rode his 10-speed bicycle from Dallas to Lubbock.  His favorite place is standing on Palatine Hill at the Forum in Rome.

She graduated from Florida State University (go Noles!) and moved from Tallahassee to Carrollton. 3 Nations is where she transitioned from being a brewery regular, to establishing her career in one.

When not at the brewery, you can count on Caroline playing video games with her husband and spending time with her two cats, Noodle and Mochi.

ARIC

Aric is a native to the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex. He traveled extensively in his early years, and took multiple backpacking trips across Europe. He quickly found that his tastes deviated from the mass produced adjunct lagers that dominate the American market. This fostered a deep appreciation for craft beer, which led him to begin homebrewing shortly thereafter. His thirst for beer and brewing knowledge was unrelenting, so he sought an education at the Siebel Institute in Chicago and Doemens Academy in Munich, Germany where he obtained an International Diploma in Brewing Technology. The sciences behind the brewing process fascinated Aric, and inspired him to pursue a formal scientific curriculum at the University of Texas at Arlington. He graduated from UTA with a BS Microbiology and MS Environmental Science.

Aric has served in various roles at Texas craft breweries for over a decade, including five years at Community Beer Company as laboratory manager and head brewer. He has extensive experience with all facets of brewing and cellar operations, packaging, and quality control. As Production Manager at 3 Nations, Aric draws from his scientific background and technical expertise to lead our team of brewers in making the best beer possible.

When he’s not managing 3NB the production team, Aric enjoys spending time with his wife, son, two dogs, and two cats. He is an avid gardener, and has a never-ending list of DIY projects that consume him.

After finishing his graduate degree, Aric spent a year as a field ecologist collecting data and operating aquatic and meteorological instrumentation in streams, woodlands, and prairies of Texas and Oklahoma. He is a naturalist at heart and lifelong enthusiast of the Cross Timbers and Blackland Prairie ecosystems.

David

David is a lifelong resident of the Carrollton area and has spent his entire life in the amusement/entertainment industry.  His family owned and operated Sandy Lake Amusement Park in Carrollton for 48 years.  A graduate of Texas A&M University with a Bachelor’s in Recreation, Park, and Tourism Sciences, David returned to the family business after college and a season at Six Flags Fiesta Texas.  At Sandy Lake David was operations manager, facility and maintenance manager, a food service manager, and smoked the BBQ brisket for the parks catering service.  In 2018 the Rush family sold the land and closed Sandy Lake Park, and David joined the 3 Nations Brewing team.  He was hired to oversee the logistics and project management of the move from the original Farmers Branch location to the new location in downtown Carrollton.  David now serves as the Operations and Facilities Manager of 3 Nations Brewing.  He has been married to his wife, for 23 years, and has a daughter attending Oklahoma State University.

While not at 3 Nations, David enjoys tournament fishing, visiting craft breweries, restoring antique amusement rides, and working out.

Once won a Galaga competition, appeared on the children’s TV show Peppermint Place, coached a high school bass fishing team, and for many years was the Milkman driving the horse drawn milk wagon in the State Fair of Texas Starlight Parade.

Rance

A Native Kansan with family roots in the DFW area. Rance graduated from KSU and will let you know it! He’s worked in the beer and bar industry for many years, and in many different places. He started as a teenager helping load trucks and distribute beer in the local Miller-Coors market. After college, he moved up to being an On-Premise Manager; covering sales, promotion, and event coordination for a few years in the North East KS area. As well as in the years between he’d be helping work and run bars all over including three locations in NY. When his wife, Baylee, accepted a Cancer Research position from UT Southwestern, they packed up and moved to DFW.

Rance worked for the Athletic Department while at KSU, mainly the football team. During the 2012 Cotton Bowl following a team practice Rance was locked in the locker room and nearly left overnight inside of AT&T stadium.
